Know the hard limit up front

Use it to draft the week, not run it
Where it helps: paste your jobs, techs, and constraints and ask it to lay out a sensible day or week. It is fast at 'here are 9 jobs across town, group them to cut driving.' You still make the final call and enter it in your real system, but it saves the blank-page time.
Have it write the customer messages
Booking confirmations, reminders, and 'tech is on the way' texts should go out for every job. ChatGPT writes these well. Draft one set, keep them short and human, and load them into whatever sends your texts. This is the highest-value, lowest-risk use.
For real dispatch, use scheduling software
Actual routing and assignment belongs in field-service software (Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse and similar). Route optimization is where the money is: shops report fitting three more calls a day by cutting travel, and one that had lost 20 percent of work hours to inefficient driving got most of it back.
Let the software handle the reminders too
